Sensitive to your breath, touch and movements, Ocarina is more versatile than an actual flute:
• Blow air into your mic to create music
• Touch combinations of holes to play notes
• Tilt to change vibrato rate and depth
• Advanced users can change keys and modes, including C-Major and Zeldarian mode
With Ocarina, you can also hear people learning to play around the world:
• Listen in on Ocarina players all over the world just by tapping the globe icon
• Rate your favorite performances
• Name your Ocarina so others can listen to you play
• Share your favorite performances with family and friends via e-mail
• Record and archive your favorite performances on your own “My Ocarina” web page

Pros and cons of Ocarina app for iPhone and iPad
Ocarina app good for
Sounds Good
1. The fact its a "social application". Touching the globe, you can hear someone elses song. Its usually a bad song, but the concept is interesting. (By the way, it seems everything in this days should be "social" to work.)
2. Well designed (I mean, simple) interface.
3. The price: 99 cents.
Sounds Bad
1. Its not that easy to learn how to play it, despite of the many lessons on-line.
2. Its not possible to play along somebody elses song.
3. You can not use it seriously as a musical instrument.
I love this! Its a twist on the music apps, and really does turn your device into an instrument for you to explore! I love listening to what other people are playing around the world.
Highly recommend it if you are someone fascinated by music.
:D
This one of my fav apps for the iPhone, I got it when it was free BONUSand I play this every day
Anyways this app deserves 5 stars
Well about 3 1/2 months later and its still great for people who have had mic issues: did you turn touch mode off and if your using an iPod 4th gen the mic is really hard to work I have an iPhone and it works fine and I tried it on my friends iPod 4th gen it was hard to work
I am pretty impressed with this app, and its very good despite a few bugs, such as listening to others play.. Not sure if Im doing it right though, haha! I do get tired of hearing the same people play the same songs though, I kind of wish the app mixed it up a bit. Other than that, amazing!
This app is amazing. It works perfectly onu iPod touch third generation and it is definitely worth .99 cents.
Its fun but it cant use external speakers when mic is plugged in on ipods with external mics. Apps like Talking Larry the bird can do it, and itd be just perfect if Ocarina could too! When I plug in my earphone-less external mic, I cant hear anything from the app. The apple earphone-mics are awkward to use with Ocarina.
Some bad moments
furthermore, I would never blow in the IPod microphone ! but it can help working the fingerings.
Hi everyone my friend showed me this app on her iPod and I knew I had to get it and once it was downloaded I blew into the microphone and no sounds were made! And I did check my volume but still nothing happened! Any suggestions?:)
It was very fun that it worked. Unfortunately it destroyed the speaker in my phone for a few days. I think had I used some common sense I would have realized that blowing into an iPhone is just a silly idea. Buy yourself a real Ocarina.
Extremely difficult to use. No demo songs. Weak all around.
Umm...it said the app was free but still, they charged me. I AM UNPLEASED >:( Plus the fact that it doesnt work.
This app used to work great, but now doesnt work at all (atleast on my iPhone 4). Please fix!
